Summer Get-togethers
Hi everybody. There was a suggestion at the Opening
Party that we have a Happy Hour at the Club outside
on the point, every two weeks or so. So, here is what
I have come up with.
Thursday, June 20 - Happy Hour
4 to 6 pm with BYOB and bring your own supper to
barbecue or whatever. Watch the dinghy races.
Sat, July 10 - Happy Hour
4 to 6 pm with BYOB and bring your own supper to
barbecue or whatever.
Sat, Aug 7 - Happy Hour
4 to 6 pm with BYOB and weinies and s'mores for a
weinie roast afterward.
Sat, Aug 14 - Happy Hour
4 to 6 pm with BYOB and your own supper to
barbecue if you wish.
Most folks bring one little snack to share at Happy
Hour, but let's not go overboard. We always seem to
have too much food. If the weather is inclement the
bar will be open upstairs.
Other upcoming events:
July l, Canada Day race
There will be a barbecue afterward, probably around
4 pm or so, with Burgers or Sausages for $2.50 each.
Ice cream cake will be provided and the bar will be
open, altho' you always know that you can bring your
own alcohol to drink on the premises but not in the
clubhouse.
Wayfarer Weekend events open to club
members
Fri, July 2 - Breakfast
8 to 9:30 am - Bacon, eggs, homefries, toast,
juice, coffee - Cost $5.00
Fri, July 2 - Spaghetti supper
6 pm - Spaghetti and meatballs, or vegetarian
sauce, rolls, Caesar or garden salad, dessert and
coffee. Cost $12.00. There will be a sign-up
sheet for this. The bar will be open at 4 pm
Sat. July 3 - Breakfast
7:30 to 9 am- Pancakes and sausage, or a
breakfast bar of fruit, yogurt, muffins, oatmeal,
and perhaps toasted westerns. Cost $5.00
Sat, July 3 - Lunch
Noon to 1:30pm - if you are around and are
hungry. Make your own sandwich bar, (with
soup if the weather is inclement) fruit, cookies.
Cost $4.00
Sat, July 24 - Commodore's picnic on the
point and poker run
That is BYOB, and either a salad, h'ors d'oeuvre,
or dessert. Meat will be provided. Time mid-
afternoon.
Sat, Sept 4 - Fish fry on the point.
Again BYOB and the time is 4 pm.
At all these events, you should bring your
own dishes, and cutlery, and it is advisable
to also bring your own lawn chair.
